Vision Problems

Our doctors are trained and able to treat vision problems you may be experiencing. This page will detail a few of the most common vision problems. Contact your doctor for specific information regarding your vision problems.

Astigmatism

This is an uneven/irregular curve in the cornea or lens of the eye. This results in blurred or distorted vision. Other symptoms may include the need to squint, eye strain, headaches, or eye fatigue.

Hyperopia (Farsightedness)

This refers to vision that can see well at a distance, but not in a close range. The cause for farsightedness is the eyeball being shorter than normal or the cornea not having enough curvature.

Myopia (Nearsightedness)

This refers to vision that can well in a close range, but not at a distance. Typically, this is due to the eyeball being longer than normal.

Presbyopia (Aging Eyes)

This refers to the lens of the eye gradually losing its flexibility, making it harder to focus clearly on objects up close (such as printed words). Distance vision is typically not affected.
